Super Falcons and Brighton Women FC goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy, an accolade awarded by France Football to the best female goalkeeper in the world.
The 24-year-old earns the nomination following a standout year at both club and international level. Nnadozie recently signed with Brighton Women FC after a stellar tenure at Paris FC, where she played a pivotal role in the club’s historic triumph in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine—their first major title in nearly two decades.
In the final, held at the Stade de l’Épopée in Calais, Nnadozie delivered a match-winning performance, guiding Paris FC to a 5-4 victory in a dramatic penalty shootout against Paris Saint-Germain after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Her impressive form carried over to the international stage. Nnadozie was instrumental in Nigeria’s successful WAFCON 2024 campaign, where the Super Falcons claimed a record-extending 10th African title by defeating host nation Morocco in the final. She was named Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament and included in the WAFCON Best XI for her commanding presence throughout the competition.
Nnadozie joins an elite list of nominees for the Women’s Yachine Trophy, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Cata Coll (Barcelona Femeni), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea Women), and Daphne van Domselaar (Arsenal Women).

The Air Component of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPFY), has recorded another significant operational success following precision airstrikes on a gathering of terrorists at the foot of Asola Hills, in Yankuzo Ward, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to a statement released by OPFY’s media information officer, Major Devid Adewusi, the airstrike was conducted based on credible intelligence indicating a large convergence of terrorists for a wedding ceremony. The targets reportedly included fighters from the Faskari and Kankara axis of Katsina State, as well as elements from across Zamfara State.
The operation resulted in the neutralization of at least 30 terrorists, while many others sustained critical injuries. Sources from the area reported that wounded fighters were evacuated by their comrades to Yankuzo village for treatment.
In a follow-up operation, troops of 1 Brigade under Sector 2 of OPFY encountered and successfully fought through a terrorist ambush en route to the village, further disrupting enemy movements.

Major Adewusi confirmed that the combined aerial and ground operations dealt a heavy blow to the terror cells operating in the region. “Locals and other reliable sources have confirmed that no fewer than 30 terrorists were neutralized during the air interdiction and subsequent ground assault,” he said.
In addition, four suspected terrorist collaborators from Kunchin Kalgo village, also in Tsafe LGA, sustained severe injuries during the operation.
The successful mission has brought much-needed relief to residents of Yankuzo, Tsafe, and surrounding communities, who have endured repeated attacks in recent months.
OPFY reiterated its commitment to restoring peace and stability across Zamfara and the wider North West region, urging continued cooperation from local communities.
